Fairy Land ??

  1. What a beautiful page - the mushrooms really stand out from the background and the spread is so beautifully balanced.
I had a look in my small etymological dictionary and it suggests that the word 'mushroom' comes from an old French word for moss. In turn, 'moss' seems to come from old Scandinavian words that meant swamp, bog or moorland. So perhaps mushrooms got their name from the kind of places where they grew?
