Soaking up the sun

We had the opportunity to visit the zoo last month, the weather had been hot and then suddenly cooled. The day we went the weather was about 75F degrees, perfect. All the animals seemed to be out and about which gave us wonderful photo and sketching opportunities. This leopard was actually so close, within a several feet of me! Lazily laying on the rock overlooking all of the activity below him when he decided to open his eyes.  I had to stand on the block wall to get the sketch but it was worth it. He didn't seem to care that so many people were gathered to see him, I am sure he was bored by the whole event. We also got tons of pictures/sketches of him and a huge lion, elephants, rhinos and giraffes. All up close and personal.
