While on a morning walk with Ceilidh this week, I noticed these very small leaves on a new branch of an oak tree. They were beginnjng to green up nicely, but first they had a burnt orange-red tinge . . . a hint of autumn color to come.
This small sketch is Noodler's red-black ink (water-soluble) and watercolor on blue Bockingford Tints 140 lb. watercolor paper.
Such a lovely piece! And yes, I love how so much of spring's burgeoning is a mirror of autumn's evolution. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rose. The whole of creation is awesome in its beauty!
DeleteOak leaves are so pretty when tiny ... yours are too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elva! New growth of all kinds is lovely --- Now we are seeing baby rose leaves open after deer ate everything else. That was unexpected after a full year of blooming roses. I suppose much of what they normally graze on is still underwater with the flooded Lake Somerville.
