Winter Blooms

Winter Blooms by Teri DC
Winter Blooms, a photo by Teri DC on Flickr.
I always leave my flowers on their stems all winter so the birds have snacks and I have a winter landscape (who knew I would actually see it this year!).

These are dried blooms from coneflowers and hydrangea and when I was walking to the mailbox I noticed how pretty they looked, so I sketched them.
I did this sketch on my new Stillman&Birns Delta sketchbook. Oh, talk about beautiful paper!

I did a pen sketch with my new Micron pens and then added a bit of watercolor and notice I even used my lettering. Such fun.

  1. Oh, how I love micron pens! I love the texture of this sketch!

  2. I really like this one Teri. I'm going to have to check into that sketchbook. Always looking for the perfect paper.

  3. I see you are making the best of your winter in Wisconsin. These dried flowers are beautiful.

  4. Thanks all.
Yes, I am trying to embrace the beauty of the winter season here.
