Wild Mushrooms

I've just spent a lovely week with my family in England where my youngest granddaughter is very keen on drawing with me.  We collected a handful of mushrooms in the garden where she told me there weren't any at all.  Hope I've identified them correctly and I don't mind if anyone needs to correct me!

Here's Sarah's version, not bad for an 11 year old!

  1. Lovely Valerie. Sarah's work is terrific too. How wonderful to have her follow in your footsteps!

  2. This is WONDERFUL, Valerie! Your mushrooms are exquisite. And how special to pass along the love for sketching in nature to Sarah. Tell her I said it's terrific, please.

  3. Wow! Sarah's are terrific! Bright colors and good detail too. I like that she copied your layout, so you can compare the drawings and mushrooms. Keep up the good work Sarah!

  5. Thanks for the kind comments, we had laid the mushrooms on some clean paper and sitting side by side we shared my colour pencils and had great fun trying to mix colours from the limited range available. I think I've also managed to get her to dump the eraser now and try drawing with a pen! See her zentangle on Artist's Journal Workshop facebook.
