My First Post!

Hello everyone, I am new to Sketching in Nature and thrilled to be here.  I live in northern British Columbia Canada, though I am originally from Victoria which is the most southern region of Vancouver Island.  It has been quite a climate change for me in the last year.  Winter in the north last until April or May.  The snow has finally all melted and we are now waiting for the first patches of green to arrive.

I was recently visiting Victoria and was able to do some sketching outdoors.  I then used watercolour to paint the purple deadnettle and the apple tree blossom.  I just purchased a Moleskin Watercolour sketch book. The watercolour paper in it is wonderful and top quality. It is perfect for taking along on outdoor adventures.

I really enjoy following this blog and love to see everyone's beautiful work , it's very inspiring.  I am currently taking the UK Society of Botanical Artists Distance Learning Diploma Course.  I am working hard and learning alot.

I post all my SBA assignments on my blog: www.laurasbotanicalart.blogspot.com
