A Quick Yosemite Trip

Spring is usually a good time to go to Yosemite National Park. Before school is out there are a few less people in the valley. This year my husband thought it would be a nice birthday trip for me. He is a hydrologist (Studies water flowing downhill) so seeing the waterfalls interested him too. We have been remodeling our house, so the trip was very welcome.

The dogwoods were blooming. They were stunning. It was lovely to walk through the forest with greenish white blossoms all around us.

The water in the rivers was amazing. We managed to see it at just the right time. There was lots of spray and mist. It was a great mini-vacation. Great scenery, great food and I even had time to work in my journal.

  1. Wonderful sketch pages, Gay. I could feel the refreshing break of being their while reading and enjoying your sketches.

  2. Oh, my, Gay. Envy is not a pretty thing, but I am SO feeling it! I haven't been to Yosemite since I was 18, and you brought it back as though it were yesterday...thank you!

  3. Truly beautiful pages - composition, line-work, colours, presentation and calligraphy are all superb. The paper looks really nice to work on - is it a home-made sketchbook?
