My sketch is a bit fanciful. All the ingredients were there -- the cormorants, sea lions and brown pelican, but I choose to make the birds a little larger than life. Now I wish I hadn't. ... but it still brings back to my memory all the sounds of the day, the light breeze, the soft lapping of the waves.
