My sister-in-law in England has been looking out for mushrooms for me to draw and here's what she found yesterday, an amethyst deceiver. I love the way the leaves surrounding it seem to reflect the mauve of the fungus.
Thanks Kate, I would love to have been there to find it but Facebook is such a brilliant way to keep in touch with the family and with all my worldwide friends. I can see things straight away and get drawing in minutes!
Oh my, that's gorgeous! I've never seen one like that, or even heard of them! That's one thing I love about this blog...

ReplyDeleteThis is lovely - I've only seen one once, in the Lake District. A real magical, fairy fungi!
ReplyDeleteJules's comment that is is a magical, fairy fungi is so appropriate. I feel as though I should be peeking under the leaves to find a gnome.
ReplyDeleteLove the name too!
