More Sketches from Yellowstone: Part II

Here are a few more sketches from my recent trip to Yellowstone National Park.  This day was blustery, with stormy grey clouds.  How I wish I could have soared with the eagle.

I've started posting a series of Yellowstone blog posts on my blog:  www.elvafieldnotes.blogspot.com

The blog will have a mix of field sketches, drawings I do from the photos we take, and a few photos.
I'm always on the lookout for a nice composition, or an item with 'character.'  A little sketch like this takes a moment, but saves a memory of the trip.
... another simple sketch, this time of a gnarly Douglas fir growing in an exposed location.

  1. Love these quick sketches. They really get a feeling of a place and movement as in soaring with an eagle.

  3. How blessed you are to sketch in what must be one of the most beautiful places on the planet Elva! Beautifully done!
