I've been traveling ....

I have some catching up to do.  I've been traveling and not finding any time to post.  These three are all field drawings from Yellowstone National Park.

Orange Springs Mound:  part of Mammoth Terraces, Yellowstone National Park.

A Wilson's snipe rests next to a pile of bison poop.  Perhaps he felt camouflaged there, or maybe he was using the bison poop as a windbreak.  Maybe the big brown pile was a heat sink and provided a little warmth.  In any case, he appeared to have come back a few days too early.

  1. Love the drawing of the Wilson's snipe and the bison's poop and your ideas of why he chose to sit there. Looking forward to more sketches of your travels.

  2. Wow, you HAVE been traveling! What wonderful images...and the bison poop made me laugh out loud! Clever snipe...

  3. Love it when you travel, Elva. Your work makes me feel like I'm there :)

We'd love to hear from you, your questions, comments, observations! Please feel free to comment, feedback is important to us.
