A Wilson's snipe rests next to a pile of bison poop. Perhaps he felt camouflaged there, or maybe he was using the bison poop as a windbreak. Maybe the big brown pile was a heat sink and provided a little warmth. In any case, he appeared to have come back a few days too early.
Love the drawing of the Wilson's snipe and the bison's poop and your ideas of why he chose to sit there. Looking forward to more sketches of your travels.
