a gnarly live oak

There are many lovely old live oak trees around here. Many we found in the small community of Independence, TX are so old, they nearly lay down on the ground!

This is one of the smaller ones, not yet reaching the ground but showing many years of storm damage and trimming.

  3. Check out this same sketch on my blog . . . There's a photo of Bill in a larger live oak nearby! Younger live oaks are full and upright. Then they just keep on spreading!

    1. I loved that! And Bill looked so cute up a tree just like a little boy!

    2. He is very cute when he feels more light-hearted . . . and I'm so thankful to have him!

  5. So do I, Elva! All the live oaks at Old Baylor had "personalities".
