I can never pass up the opportunity to sketch a kingfisher. This one perched on a thin driftwood branch which was hanging over shallow water along the Coquille River, less than a mile from the Pacific Ocean. He was back lit; patiently looking for his supper as the day came to a close.
I never seem to be able to get close enough to these guys! Lovely...
