Dragonfly from Paula

I went to the mountains on Saturday (our power was out from a freak storm so I figured I'd be cooler in the mts.) and this guy hitched a ride in the back seat of my car. He was actually dead but perfectly preserved. I guess he must have flown in at some point when I had my windows down and then cooked in the 100+ degree heat wave we've been having. Anyway, I thought he deserved to be memorialized so I painted him on the lichen-covered stick a friend found. This was a little watercolor sketch, then I did a large watercolor of him. I'm still working on that but thought you might like to see the sketch. Dragonflies and lizards are my "totems" so I was pleased with how this turned out.
