View from my Studio window - Maree

A weed is a plant that has mastered every survival skill except for learning how to grow in rows.
~Doug Larson

We've had some lovely Autumn days, but I think winter is now really settling in. And when it's too cold to go outside and sketch, the next best thing is the view from my studio window. I've used some artistic licence here and left out the tractors and implements I sometimes have to stare at (but it is our bread and butter, so I don't really mind!) and instead enjoy the Dandelions and birds that forage around in the grass.

    1. Baie dankie Elizabeth! 'n Boer moet 'n plan maak as dit te koud is om buitentoe te gaan! Dankie vir die inloer!

  2. Those weeds certainly have amazing survival skills. I was just out in the field, getting out some creeping buttercups. The best I can hope to do is to slow them down, but I do so wish I sometimes had a flamethrower to use on them - only in my grumpiest, weed-pulling mood.

    1. Oh kathryn, they certainly do! but I don't mind the Dandelions but I can understand your frustration, especially if one doesn't want to use any weed-killer chemicals - well, happy deweeding!

  3. It's fascinating to think you are just entering winter and we're just entering summer. The Internet sure makes this seem like a small planet, doesn't it? I really like the colors in this sketch Maree.
