Just as we started thinking Spring is on the way here in South Africa (some of my trees have even begun sporting a few green buds), we've been slammed with snow and freezing temperatures. But the cold imparts a certain 'cleanliness' to the landscape which is not apparent in Summer, except perhaps after a lovely down-pour.
