It's haying season again - and as I always am when this happens - I am going crazy over the hay bales! This painting is a composition of images - the farm across from our home, haybales from another farm, and fences from yet another farm. Running chores yesterday, I followed two trucks filled with hay bales, and I passed field after field with hay being baled and hay ready for baling. Yep -- 'this the season!
It's Memorial Day weekend, and we've a lot planned so I may be scarce for a while. It's cooler this morning than yesterday, but oh, does it feel like rain! We should have a couple of sunny days nonetheless - and hot - I'll be watering my tomatoes for certain!
Have a great day!

I love those bales too, Lin! You're way ahead of us though...no haying here yet.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is lovely. Here in New England we have just put our tomatoes out and the leaves are still not all the way out on many of our trees...we won't see hay bales for a while but you're right--they are a great shape!
ReplyDeleteMy, how peaceful all looks. Your illustration is very good.
ReplyDeleteyou really are rapidly becoming one of my favourite painters. I love the richness of the colours, I struggle to get this sort of depth in my watercolours, and the composition is just perfect. I really like the way your eye is lead to the little house by a zigzag line of fences and hay bales.
