We had had a sock feeder up for months, with almost no action, so I finally picked up an inexpensive fince feeder at Orschlen's Farm Store...and the goldfinches found it immediately! First one, then a flock...they're beautiful, and when they all begin an excited, random twitteration, LOUD.
This little guy was a visitor to our front porch feeder, last winter...usually orange-ish under the wing! |
Oh, and the little red-bud colored guy is a house finch, who ALSO likes the new feeder, when he can find room!
beautiful sketch Kate!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was playing with Inktense pencils, and they ARE intense, aren't they!
ReplyDeleteI love the Inktense pencils! You just have to get used to them. I really like the way you laid out this page.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finch page! The intensity is super. I guess I should pull these pencils out to play with but something tells me my picture won't come out quite as nice no matter what, lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks, you two! I'm not sure how lightfast these are, but I'm hoping...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the first one! never heard of inktense pencils, I 'll look them up straight away. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteKate - this is lovely and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you both! Concetta, do check the lightfastness--I've got that somewhere, but can't remember where! I love how brilliant they are, but not sure it'll last.
ReplyDeleteThis is just stunning. You captured your little finch so beautifully. I really love your work.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to HAVE so many of them this year! Gorgeous little guys...
