out of season- a beech tree in fall.

In October I went to the mountainous region of Abruzzo, not far from Rome, to paint the colours of fall.
I had to leave this large beech tree unfinished because the cold was too much for me. I now found the time to complete it ,with the slanting light of that sunny autumn day revealed by the pictures I took.
Abruzzo hosts a National Park where you can find bears (a dwindling population of the Marsican subspecies), eagles, wolves and chamois, together with roe-deer and red deer. Unfortunately the severe cuts on funding for Parks are putting conservaton of this biodiversity at risk.
The watercolour is on Arches paper.
