The oaks have been prolific this year, it is hazardous to walk in the yard! I believe this is a predictor of a hard winter here in New England. But - the squirrels sure love it, no hunting required, just gathering.
Here in Alberta the mountain ash trees are heavily loaded with berries this year also as are some other winter berry bearing trees. I sure hope it does not mean a long hard winter, ours are long enough. I do love autumn with its changes though.
Here too, Sandy! My neighbor has a huge oak tree, and the sound of acorns hitting their metal carport has sounded like the 4th of July's been held over this year!
