Bay Street in Beaufort, SC - Pam Johnson Brickell

You'd be hard pressed to find a prettier spot to rest a spell than under the live oaks that grace the Beaufort River side of Bay Street.

I got to do just that last Wednesday. It's good to see the Spartina alterniflora (smooth cordgrass) starting to green up. There are many boats moored along the marsh grass but I only had a half hour :) The dead Spartina has a wonderful purple cast to it.
