Husb and I visited Quail Gardens last week, and I drew and inked this tree, with no time to add color on location. So the next day, I added color with my new Derwent Inktense pencils. I find when I start to draw a huge tree, my inner dialog is 'oh my gosh, HOW am I going to capture all this detail???" along with the self doubt of "I can't capture all this detail!" But if I just continue drawing and looking and looking and drawing, eventually the tree starts to form. Here's another example of a tree of mine.

Love that you chose to color the bkg. Really helps the foliage forms stand out.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! And I have that inner dialogue about EVERYTHING I do...the only way I can hush that voice is to just get it drawn.
