Drawing is calming...

drawing is calming

I find that my stress levels drop dramatically if I take the time to draw carefully from nature...

I've always loved cicadas--their sounds, their abandoned amber husks, the lacy wings of the adults. This page even has a time-lapse video of an emergent cicada--and this one tells some interesting facts about the noisy summer creature.

  1. Mmmmm, I can feel MY stress levels easing just by viewing your drawing! And what a gift that is.

The time-lapse video is cool, those jade-green to white wings are lovely works of art. And who would imagine cicadas selecting prime numbers, (except a mathematician)?

Hope the stress eases for you for a while.

  2. Thank you, Elizabeth...it WILL get better, and has somewhat, since I got the book off again. Class will be finished at the end of this coming week, and then all I'll have to deal with is--all the rest! *G*

  3. I so agree. Nature slows us down and we see more of what really matters.
