Cari's Coneflowers

Since this is my first time posting here let me tell you how thrilled I am to be among this great group of artists!
My daughter, Cari, has the most beautiful gardens! I had some time while we were there this weekend so I grabbed a lawn chair and sat in front of these beautiful coneflowers and sketched them.
In this particular plot the garden is just thick with coneflowers, monarda and not yet opened black eyed-susies.
Unfortunately, the mosquitos also love the flowers (and the whole yard), so this was a fast sketch and painted inside.
Have a great day everyone!

  1. Welcome, Teri. It's good to see a new artist and your work is lovely. I don't sketch and show here but enjoy stopping by a few times a week to see what the sketchers have done.

  2. Delighted to have you on board, Teri! The coneflowers are just lovely against that white background...

When you get the chance, please do a "meet the correspondents" post, if possible with a photo of you at work!

  4. Beautiful coneflower sketch. This is one of the things I love most about art. Everyone sketches through their own unique 'eyes' and style.
