In
the spring I began filling this wee sketchbook (under 3" square) with
Texas wildflowers found near our new home. Then throughout the hot,
humid summer, I sort of ignored it . . . . There weren't as many
wildflowers seen then anyway.
But now lots of new ones have filled the local pastures, mostly yellow. So I added them this past week.
This little book is such a treasure! LOVE your wildflower studies...
ReplyDeleteAnd this time, most are drawn on site! --- if you count drawing copies of the originals that were drawn on site in my bigger sketchbook. Fields are getting colorful again, and our roses are going crazy with blooms!
DeleteWhat a wonderful way to learn the flowers in your area.
ReplyDeleteElva, I am amazed at the variety of wildflowers here! And so many I didn't know before. I almost missed that scarlet pea, it's so tiny.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful little book you're creating, there is so much to inspire us in nature!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Valerie! It's been a fun little book to work in.
ReplyDeleteVicky, lovely wildflower sketches! Are these gouache or watercolor?
ReplyDeleteDory, these are watercolor over ink; the white bits are from a watercolor crayon.
ReplyDelete(The toned papers are Nideggen and Fabriano Tiziano.)
