Enjoying some time lakeside. This house has red clay shingles... an oddity for western New York but oh so striking in the midday sun.
Playing with Caran d'Ache Neo Colors - watercolor crayons. Very fun!

Van Zandt View - Pam Johnson Brickell
I enjoyed an hour of painting delight today. This is a view of Conesus Lake in Livonia, NY that I've wanted to paint for several years. It was a 'just-do-it' day :) You can read more here.

October Clouds in a September Sky - Pam Johnson Brickell
I started this watercolor sketch a few days ago. The dark bottomed clouds, big and full. So full of Fall. The last few nights, flocks of Canada Geese have been flying in. Such sweet music to my ears.
Labor Day Weekend, the lake is buzzing with activity. The last hurrah. Next week, lots of docks will be pulled out, cottages winterized. I'm glad we're heading south. I hate to see summer end.

Three Evenings - Pam Johnson Brickell
Our time in New York is almost at an end. When we arrived in July, I had envisioned a lot more time on the boat taking in the evening colors. Silly puddin'! Nursing a husband through major back surgery, taking care of elderly in-laws and keeping Basenjis in line in an non-Basenji proofed house, rather fills the day :)
P.S. I so miss my scanner!
