Too bad I did not make additional notes and did not identify it right away - I'd love to have a bunch of these sitting in a dry composition - would work great with evergreens I think :)
Looks like teasel to me too, especially if the seed heads were really prickly. Here in rainy Oregon a lot of the seeds sprout right in the seed head during our rainy season.... good food for goldfinches. Lovely sketch!
