oleander seed pods by Concetta





Somewhat metaphysical... the preliminary sketches and a few more thoughts can be found on my blog. Enjoy Fall  all of you who happen to be in our hemisphere!

  3. Concetta, this piece is so sophisticated.... possibly a weird word for art, but that's what came to mind along with stunning!

    1. So, thank you all; this time I experimented with tinting the background in watercolour: translucent brown by Schminke, that I ADORE- just like caramel- and a little indigo at one side. Then I drew freehand and painted with patient little strokes the beautiful stripes of indigo and red. The lighter underside- or inside- of the pod is done in gouache.
      I like them floating in the air like this.
