They come in a lot of fascinating shapes. I keep them in a can and open it up sometimes for a giant whiff of eucalyptus!Irene Bradyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02062009689184090431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4222503441854374850.post-49690083266561419272011-02-21T14:08:49.794-06:002011-02-21T14:08:49.794-06:00Excellent observation and detailed painting...Lind...Excellent observation and detailed painting...LindaLinda Miller, Artisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12383016016964186987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4222503441854374850.post-86416943149421737802009-10-26T03:57:47.250-05:002009-10-26T03:57:47.250-05:00Hi Jeanette, Yes, Gum trees are eucalyptus . I remember seeing eucalyptus on a holiday in California and it felt like I was in Australia (except driving on the other side of the road). I found out that in the 1850s, Eucalyptus trees were introduced to California by Australians during the California Gold Rush. Sorry about that everyone, as I know they cause great problems.Alissahttp://www.flickr.com/photos/31752495@N03noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4222503441854374850.post-3208282581070776442009-10-25T20:00:50.460-05:002009-10-25T20:00:50.460-05:00Curious little things these are - I'm in the m...Curious little things these are - I'm in the middle of the USA and have never seen these! Are gum trees eucalyptus? In California, on the west coast I've seen eucalyptus (don't know the variety) seeds or nuts, but they're very different from these!Jeanette, Mistress of Longearshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06815875437992974233noreply@blogger.com
