I've seen birds empty a nest box that they want to take over, i.e. a flicker throwing out a bluebird's nesting material one time ... and another time a different flicker pulling a starling's nesting material out. I feel like a nervous new mother always worrying about the baby and checking to see if mom is taking care of it.<br />I have been wondering what is disturbing the nest also. We do have feral cats in the neighborhood........and it always seems to happen at night because I have found the problems in early morning.<br />Keeping my fingers crossed.
